ZONE DENMARK CLAIMS TWO MORE INTERNATIONAL DESIGN AWARDS
Zone Denmark has raised the anchor
…at the start of a new impressive voyage in 2018 by winning two international design awards – iF Design Awards 2018 – for its Peili Oblong dishes and the innovative Puck Hook designed by the VE2 designer trio.
The new year was not even a month old before Zone Denmark added two more design awards to its impressive collection.
At the end of January, iF Design Awards, one of the world’s biggest and most prestigious design competitions, bestowed Zone Denmark and the VE2 designer trio not with just one, but two iF Design Awards 2018 in competition with 6,400 submissions from 54 countries. The two awards acknowledged their innovative approach to design, functionality and aesthetics.
Peili Oblong won one of the iF Design Awards 2018 for its new interpretation of the bowl and dish, which are part of the already award-winning Peili series. Peili Oblong excels by bringing new shapes and functions in all the rooms in the home – for example for cultivating fresh herbs, as place to keep make-up, or even as a place to keep the children’s pencils and crayons, and with a lid that can even be used as a tray for bits and pieces and other odds and ends.
The second iF Design Award 2018 winner is the innovative Puck Hook featuring a suction disc. The disc provides a powerful suction and can hold 5 kg. This means that Puck Hook can be mounted on smooth surfaces such as tiles, mirrors, windows and the sides and doors of most cupboards – all without using tools or boring holes.
There is not necessarily a connection between winning design awards and also winning the heart of the consumer. Zone Denmark is the exception that makes the rule:
“Sustained concentration in product development to find the optimal compromise between design, production and price mean not only design awards, but also new dealers and strong growth,” explains a visibly optimistic Design & Brand Manager,” Michael Bruun from Zone Denmark.
“The close dialogue with our designers about our shared approach to creating innovation and “something for the eye” have proved to be the right direction for us. It is all the product of our dialogue…
